The Fabric Guild is an American style warehouse club and caters for the genuine enthusiast whether beginner or competition winner, we are not open to the general public, admission being restricted to members only. We do not exhibit at trade shows. Although there are undoubtedly many good quilting shops in the UK, they all generally stock the same ranges of fabrics and products at pretty much the same prices. The Fabric Guild is different, we opened to provide quilter's in Europe and the UK with the same sort of 'shopping experience' previously only available in the United States. We offer the largest selection of quilting fabrics and sewing craft supplies this side of the Atlantic. Our prices for the latest fabric 'releases' are broadly the same as you would pay in an American shop, however we have extensive ranges of clearence fabrics at £3/yd or less. Our competitive prices and rapid turnover enables us to provide members with a new selection and choice of goods every time they visit. We are a family business committed to providing a high level of professional service and competence, a feature of the Fabric Guild is the relaxed friendly atmosphere, with expert help and advice being available if needed otherwise you have complete freedom to roam and touch ! You can even get your sick sewing machine treated ! Mr Graham Cresswell of Cresswell Sewing Machines is on hand for servicing and repairs and very competitive prices for new machines. However we must point out we are not a shop, you cannot simply 'pop in' whenever you want and we do not offer the sort of attentive one to one service you may be used to. We are open Fridays 10.00am to 3.30pm and Sundays 8.30am - 1.00pm. Groups of 5 or more are welcome on Thursday's 10.00am to 2.30pm by prior appointment. Lifetime membership of the Fabric Guild is £5 and for this you will receive 6 invitations and 6 newsletters a year. Your invitation is flexible and if it is not suitable, we can arrange an alternative date. Membership also entitles you to a special bonus voucher (worth approx £1.25) for every £25 you spend - these vouchers can then be swapped directly for things like scissors and cutting equipment. Free coffee and biscuits are available in a large seating area (where incidentally husbands can be dumped with a newspaper). Please feel free to bring your lunch in with you. You can post us a downloaded membership form or you can join on your first visit. Why not combine a visit to Leicester with a quilting weekend ? Jeanne Gentry who is part of our team providing expert advice, is a partner of Chaos Quilting that run quilting retreats 4 times a year Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like any further information Membership is not required to use our online shop Welcome to the new Fabric Guild website.
